I have been going to Shortino’s for over 15 years. When I moved to York I cared for my mother who had Alzheimer's. I found Shortino’s to be my place of relaxation. I could go in with my mother, their staff would do her hair, nails, etc, and not act like she annoyed them; thus I could get my own hair, nails, facials, waxing and massage while totally enjoying the pampering without worrying about my mother’s well being. Although my mother has since passed and my children have grown up, I have not been able to give up this corner of my life. To me, Shortino’s is heaven on earth, a massage to die for and pampering to the extreme. I have very little hair to work with yet they always come up with some cut or color I love. Honestly, a spa day at Shortino’s beats out all other forms of relaxation. Thank you Frank, Fran and Lori!I have been going to Shortino’s Salon and Spa at least ten years. I could not be happier every single time I visit the salon. Frank especially is great with my hair color! He is very creative and is good with new styles. Not only is he good with coloring hair, but he is also good with cutting hair. Every single time I’m there Frank is very enthusiastic and puts a lot of attention to my hair! I would not recommend a better salon to go to! The salon customer service is top notch and each and every staff member makes you feel very comfortable.In my earlier years, my 30’s, I had pretty much decided I would not color my hair or even seek regular style and care advice from a hairdresser when I got older. I figured my hair would do what it wanted to do anyway, so why throw money at getting it to be something different than it really was. Then, I got older! I began to realize that my hair was aging along with the rest of me and I wasn’t knowledgeable or prepared to deal with my changing hair. Luckily, a friend of mine suggested Shortino’s. I found Frank and the staff were warm, inviting, and responsive to the needs for my hair. I wasn’t treated like “a head with hair”—just there to experiment with new trends, styles, and methods. Though Shortino’s is a salon that is familiar with all the above, they are consummate professionals in that they will only do what is right for your hair to improve or maintain the health of your hair! Knowing and experiencing that for many years has inspired confidence that I’m in the best hands possible if I want to look and feel good. The spa services enhance that feeling of “being good to myself”. Just as your family and friends want what’s best for you, Shortino’s has become a part of my extended family and friends.I have been a loyal client of Shortino’s Salon & Spa for 17 years. My first experience was with my sister when I was 18, and now I’m 35. I have never been anywhere else since. I always leave the salon feeling wonderful and energized. The services that I have received over the years are as follows: cuts, color, perms, treatments, massage and a complimentary pedicure. As I’ve aged my real hair color has darken, yet Frank still makes my color look the same. Everyone thinks it’s my real color. He’s a fabulous color expert—without a doubt. Everyone also thinks my hair is naturally curly but it’s baby fine and straight. The perms they give last forever, 2 years. Frank did my hair for my wedding day, and since he knows me so well I trusted him completely. We did not even do a trial run. Needless to say, I looked marvelous. I was also a model for one of their shows at the York Towne Hotel. I cannot say enough positive things about Shortino’s. Every time I step into the spa I have a good time. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxing. They have become my close friends over the years.I have traveled to Baltimore for years to get my hair cut and colored. I decided to try another salon in the York area. That was a big mistake, they turned my blond hair “gray” —not a good thing. I immediately picked up the phone book and saw an ad for corrective color. I made the call to Shortino’s and the owner, Frank Shortino, took me within an hour. Not only did he fix my color, it was fabulous! I travel with my job and constantly get compliments on my hair. I have been a client for several years and will never leave. Bottom line, at Shortino’s you will get the best color in town!I have been going to Shortino’s for over 10 years and couldn’t be happier. My very first visit was amazing. I had just come for a salon who completely messed up my hair color! I was desperate and in tears. When I walked into the salon a complete wreck, the person at the front desk was great! She calmed me down gave me a cup of soothing tea and assured me they would take care of the problem—and she was right! Frank took me immediately, fixed my color—it never looked better and I haven’t looked back since! Since that time, I also use the spa for waxing, facials, pedicures and massage. I am always treated like I’m their favorite client. It is so warm and inviting at Shortino’s. Everyone makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. The atmosphere is professional but warm and inviting, not stuffy like some other places. I don’t believe there is any other salon in the area with the color knowledge and expertise as Shortino’s. I’m always amazed to hear about their travels all over the world studying their craft! I can’t tell you how good I feel after a visit to Shortino’s. They know how to treat people, how to make you look and feel your best!I love Shortino’s because of the people. They are friendly, caring and professional. They go out of their way to make you feel special. I feel refreshed and gorgeous every time I have an appointment there, whether it’s in the spa or salon. I even came back to Shortino’s when I moved back to town. You owe it to yourself to try Shortino’s.
