Frank Shortino
Owner

Frank Shortino has a passion for beauty and it shows in his drive, excitement and commitment to the beauty industry.  Not only is he a respected business owner, he is a diligent student and educator.  Frank has received his ongoing training in New York City, Washington D.C., Miami, California, Las Vegas, Arizona, Texas, Atlanta and abroad in London, England and Paris France.  He participates in professional photo shoots on a regular basis, his work and that of his team has been featured and published in national and international public and trade magazines.

He continues to train and educate, not only his team members but hair professional world-wide. Frank is a master colorist, for color is his true love. Being a member of Intercoiffure is one of his proudest achievements.  For his outstanding contributions to this organizations, Frank was awarded the “Cheviere”, reflecting his dedication and commitment to the Beauty Business.  This incredible honor was presented to him at the Intercoiffure Mondail’s International Program in Paris, France.

Frank is a master level stylist.

Francine Shortino
Owner

Francine has been part of the salon industry since 1987. While she no longer does hair, skin or nail services, she keeps busy in her office handling the back-end of the business, attending seminars and keeping the salon organized. She loves watching their young talent grow and develop into wonderful stylist. When not at the salon she enjoys golf, connecting with great business friends, traveling and working on stained glass projects.

Frank Michael Shortino
Stylist | educational director

Frank Michael Shortino was born to create extraordinary hair fashions.  A third generation hairdresser from York, PA, he began working in his parents salon, Shortino’s Salon & Spa, as a teen in the early 1990’s. As his skill and artistic abilities expanded, so did the recognition and accolades from his industry peers.  Frank Michael was awarded membership in Intercoiffure, the prestigious international authority of hair fashion, and was one of six to make up the first ever board for Intercoiffure’s Guillaume Foundation North America, an organization whose goal is to assist the youth of the hair profession in moving forward and having opportunities.

He also moved into New York City, living for five years in the trendy lower east side, and working at the John Dellaria Salon to expound upon his vision for fashion as a whole.   In 2001, Frank Michael was also chosen as one of only 20 stylist is the United States and Canada to make up Wella International’s “TOP Stylist Artistic Team”.  This honor bestowed upon him is recognized as the highest level of “Stage Presenter and Guest Artist” for Wella.   Not being one to rest on his laurels, Frank Michael continues to grow as a stylist.

His work has been seen is Vogue, Harpers, Self, Lucky and Modern Salon to name a few. His educational classes are highly sought out, as his audiences routinely remark on the level of passion he emits, as well as the approachability he brings as an educator.

His passion for haircutting and colouring is as strong as when he started in the business 20 years ago. Frank Michael is a master level stylist.

Amanda Holtry
Stylist

Amanda is a native of York County.  She was drawn to the art and creativity of the beauty industry at a young age.  Amanda started her career at Shortino’s Salon in 2004 and continues to be passionate about what she does and is motivated to continue growing.  She is constantly looking for ways to make the salon guest look and feel their best. Amanda is Frank Shortino’s assistant.

Cathy Sursech
Front desk coordinator

Cathy has worked the front desk of the salon for 13 years, making sure everything works smoothly.  Before coming to Shortino’s Salon & Spa, she was in the customer service business for most of her adult life.  She enjoys helping our great clientele and exceptional service providers.

Leanna Knisely
Stylist, nail technician

Leanna is a graduate of Lancaster School of Cosmetology and has a real passion for the industry. Leanna’s interests include:

Nails – The fun of design and colors, relaxing spa services, and pampering the spa clients.

Hair – Leanna is obsessed with the challenge of all the different and crazy fun techniques that are available for the salon clients.

Leanna’s goal is to meet and share with other professional stylists and educators all over the United States. Leanna is a senior level stylist.

Renee Allingham
Stylist

Renee loves meeting people from all over the world and transforming them. She finds beauty in art and science, and over the last ten years, she has managed to blend the two into a career that she is passionate about.

Renee enjoyed the challenge of working with textures from all over the globe and the satisfaction that comes from the chemistry of taking her clients into the colors of their dreams.

She approaches hair dressing in a freestyle manner, suitable to honing in on her client’s individual needs, while executing the style with the perfection and precision that she has learned through rubbing elbows with some of the best in the business over the last decade.

She has been a stylist trainer and educator, and has worked in Harrisburg, York, and downtown Philadelphia.

Renee believes that learning never ends. She takes pride in continuing education in the industry. She enjoys working with all ages, colors, men and women, and is particularly good with children. If you are looking for a well-rounded, reliable stylist who is down to earth and a little eccentric, Renee is a fantastic choice!  Renee is a senior level stylist.
