Your Visit

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to prepare for your service. Unwind with a cup of coffee or tea. If you have not pre-registered by email, the salon receptionist will ask you to fill in a client card.

This will help us get to know you and give you time to ask any questions you might have. A late arrival may result in an adjustment in your service. We strive to be prompt for all guests.

A missed appointment is a loss for you and your technician.


We respectfully require 48 hours notice of cancellation for all salon and spa services. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be charged 50% of the value of your service. “No Shows” will be charged 50% of the service value. Credit Cards are required for booking multiple salon and spa services. Please respect your technician by understanding lost appointments are lost income for your technician and lost availability to other guests requesting appointment time.

We require 48 hours notice for changed appointment or cancellation for all gift card holders. Otherwise we reserve the right to reduce the value of, or void, the gift card.

Our scheduling is designed to permit enough time to complete your salon and spa services. Please help us by being prompt so that no one will have to wait for their services.

Do not email the salon to cancel or change an appointment. This must be done by phone.

For maximum availability, we recommend that you schedule your next service prior to leaving the salon or spa.


Our team of hair professionals offer different levels of pricing. Fees may vary according to services and level of stylist, which is determined by their level of education and experience.

You are an individual, as is your hair, skin, and nails. Please understand that additional charges may apply when necessary to accommodate long and/or thick hair, due to extra time requirements.

All services are a la carte unless otherwise stated. All prices and policies are subject to change at any time without any previous notification.

We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Personal Check with proper identification and Cash for payment.

Gratuities can not be applied to credit cards.<

Due to recent activity, no checks are accepted on a first visit to the salon. First visits can be paid with Visa, Master Card, American Express or Cash.

Gift Cards

Gift Cards are wonderful to give and receive. Shortino’s Gift Cards are available in any dollar amount and are good towards any service or product. Gift Cards are final sale. Gift cards are non-refundable. They are valid for 5 years. After 12 months of non-use a service fee of $0.50 (fifty cents) per month will be deducted from the cards balance. Appointments must be made prior to the expiration date and certificates must be presented at time of redemption. We are not responsible for lost gift certificates. Our gift certificates can be presented in a lovely gift box and are a great presentation for that someone special.


Professional hair care products purchased at shortino’s are guaranteed and can be returned for an exchange or refund within fourteen (14) days of the original date of purchase. Some products, such as flat irons, must be returned by you directly to the manufacturer. The following products are final sale: gift cards, makeup, cosmetics, nail polish, hair accessories, hair jewelry, and makeup brushes.

Services Guarantee

When the services received are complete, we want each guest to be happy with their new style, and feel the best from their treatment. Any questions or concerns are to be addressed by calling the salon within 72 hours. We will reconnect you with your service provider and address any needed changes as promptly as possible.

Salon Visit

Robes are provided to you to protect your clothing from colour and chemicals. Shortino’s is not responsible for any damage done to your clothing or accessories if you choose not to wear a protective robe.

Smoking is not permitted in the salon or spa.

Spa Visit

If you are a return guest to our spa, please check in with the front desk and go up to the relaxation room in the spa. Your technician will look for you there. Feel free to arrive at your spa appointments a bit early so that you may go to the relaxation room and begin to de-stress. You can change into a robe and slippers, enjoy a hot or cold beverage and relax until your technician lets you know your service is about to begin.

To maintain our relaxing and peaceful spa environment, the spa facility is reserved for adults. No children are permitted in the spa unless they are receiving services.

Safety & Children

Salons are not safe places for babies and children. Please, for your peace of mind and the children’s safety, we ask you not to bring children to the salon unless they are scheduled for a service or accompanied by another adult. Our receptionist can not be responsible to watch your children.

A small percentage of individuals can experience adverse reactions to products such as hair colour, skin care and body products, even if they have not had reactions in the past with repeated applications.

Complimentary patch tests are available to determine whether or not adverse reactions will occur. Such patch tests must be given 48 hours (2 days) prior to your appointment. If you choose to forgo these patch tests, you will be asked to sign a waiver, thereby holding harmless Shortino’s Salon and Spa, its owners and employees from any liability arising from such product application.
